A real ring, not a boutique

Southpaw opened in an old print works off Sterling Road with one heavy bag and a secondhand ring. A decade later we run a full competition ring, sixteen bags, and a strength floor built for fighters. The grit stayed. The standards went up.

Our coaches competed at the amateur and pro level, and they teach like it. You get corrected every round, matched carefully when you spar, and pushed exactly as hard as you are ready for.

What the west end says

4.9 / 5 · 520+ reviews

Walked in soft after a desk-job decade and terrified of the heavy bag. Six months later I spar twice a week and I have never been in better shape. The coaches meet you exactly where you are.

The 6am Sunrise Rounds changed my whole day. Hard, honest work before the sun is up, then coffee with the same crew every morning. Best decision I made this year.

P

Priya Sandhu

Fighter member

Free trial week hooked me completely. No card, no pressure, just seven days of real classes. By day four I had already told the front desk to sign me up for Fighter.

J

Jerome Blake

Fighter member

Muay Thai on Tuesdays became the highlight of my week. The clinch work is technical and the coaches are patient with beginners. I have learned more here in months than years elsewhere.

H

Hannah Wu

Fighter member

Southpaw Sparring nights are the best hour of my week. Controlled, coached, and you always leave having learned something. Nobody is there to hurt you, everyone is there to get better.

A

Andre Thompson

Full Contact member

Booked the free week on a whim and it turned into the best routine of my life. Strong, calmer, sleeping better. The team here genuinely wants you to keep coming back.

I came for the fitness and stayed for the people. Nobody here cares that you are new. The Fundamentals class broke everything down so clearly that by week two I actually felt like a boxer.

R

Renata Cho

Foundation member

Signed my thirteen year old up for Youth Boxing and his confidence has gone through the roof. Coaches are strict where it counts and encouraging the rest of the time. Zero contact, all skill.

Youth parent

The Strength and Conditioning class is brutal in the best way. My roadwork and my punch power both jumped after two months. This is not a boutique bag-tapping workout, it is the real thing.

S

Sofia Marchetti

Fighter member

The gym is spotless, the bags are in great shape, and the ring is proper competition size. You can tell the owners actually care about the space. Feels like a real fight gym, not a franchise.

D

Diego Fuentes

Foundation member

Lost twenty pounds without ever stepping on a scale, just showing up. The conditioning is disguised as fun and the community keeps you honest. I stopped calling it working out and started calling it training.

Seven days,
on the house

Drop your email and we set you up with a full week of unlimited classes. No card, no lock-in, no pressure. Just show up and find out if the gym is yours.

No card required. We will only email you about your trial. Members must be 16 or older, youth classes from age 9.

Questions we get at the desk

01

I have never thrown a punch. Can I still start?

Absolutely, most people who walk through our door have never boxed. Fundamentals is built for exactly that. A coach puts you in a small group, teaches your stance and guard from scratch, and there is zero sparring until you decide you want it.

02

Do I need my own gloves and wraps?

Not for your first stretch. We loan clean gloves and hand you a fresh set of wraps for your free trial and your first few weeks. Once you are hooked, the front desk will help you pick gear that fits your hands.

03

Is sparring required?

Never. Plenty of members train for years purely for the fitness and the skill and never spar. When you do want the rounds, they are controlled, coached, and matched to your level, and you set the pace.

04

What should I bring to my first class?

Athletic clothes you can move in, indoor training shoes or clean flat soles, a water bottle, and a towel. Come fifteen minutes early so a coach can wrap your hands and walk you through the floor.

05

Do you have classes for kids?

Yes. Youth Boxing runs Tuesday and Thursday at 5pm for ages nine to fifteen. It is discipline, footwork, and fitness in a safe, no-contact format, with the same coaches who run our adult program.

06

How does the free trial week work?

Drop your email and we set you up with seven days of unlimited classes at no cost and no card on file. Come to as many sessions as you like, meet the coaches, and only sign up if the gym feels like yours.
